- Decide if you will use
- Formative (informal, process-related assignments)
- Summative (formal, end of task assignment) presentation assignments
- Identify the goals of the presentation assignment. Is it to explain, synthesize, persuade? Is the point to deliver a professional speech? Is it to show mastery of material? Is to to showcase teamwork skills?
- Choose (or create) a grading rubric specific to the assignment.
- Provide specific, descriptive comments.
- Try using the “sandwich method” for offering comments.
- Comment as “intended audience” not the instructor or classmate.
- Be specific with both positives and areas of opportunity.
- Limit number of comments.
